The 6th annual Philanthropy Week is hosted by the ºìÐÓ¶ÌÊÓÆµ State University Nonprofit Leadership Studies program, the Nonprofit Resource Center, the Department of Organizational Communication and Leadership and the Arthur J. Bauernfeind College of Business.

Philanthropy Week 2026 will focus on nonprofit organizations and individuals striving daily to create communities where children and families thrive.

  • Monday, April 6 - ºìÐÓ¶ÌÊÓÆµ Art Guild Open House.
    6:00 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. | ºìÐÓ¶ÌÊÓÆµ Art Guild, 500 N. 4th Street, ºìÐÓ¶ÌÊÓÆµ, KY

  • Tuesday, April 7 - Darkness to Light, child abuse prevention training facilitated by Lotus,
    free for ºìÐÓ¶ÌÊÓÆµ students and community members.
    6:00 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. | Ohio Room, Curris Center, ºìÐÓ¶ÌÊÓÆµ State University 

  • Thursday, April 9 - Philanthropy Week Keynote Address and Donna Herndon Award presentation
    Melanie McCallon Seib
    , Nonprofit Leadership Studies Faculty Member will speak with Lori Wells Brown, Chief Executive Officer of Lotus, Debi Henry Danielson, Executive Director ºìÐÓ¶ÌÊÓÆµ Art Guild and Shawn Johnson, Family Services Office Supervisor with Recruitment and Certification, Department for Community Based Services. The conversation will focus on the work of creating healthy communities for kids and families.
    6:00 p.m. | Wrather Auditorium, ºìÐÓ¶ÌÊÓÆµ State University 

  • Friday, April 10 - A Community Overview of Green Dot
    a community-based violence prevention program, facilitated by Lotus and co-hosted by the ºìÐÓ¶ÌÊÓÆµ Women’s Club
    9:00 a.m. – 10:30 a.m. | ºìÐÓ¶ÌÊÓÆµ Woman's Club Clubhouse, 704 Vine Street, ºìÐÓ¶ÌÊÓÆµ, KY
